5.8 just outside of LA.

5.8 is probably normal background shaking in L.A.

It'll have his Coach Fran bobblehead shaking at his desk.
Seriously, I think a 5.8 is fairly significant for that area.

I read comments 40 minutes after the quake that they felt it for 5-7 seconds as far away as San Diego I believe that is 180+ miles away...
Hope everyone is all right.

Yeah I watched some of that on CNN earlier. It's been lowered to a 5.6 which is still significant. Makes you wonder if there will be future earthquakes with higher magnitude. Let's hope it didn't get Chop's computer.

Yep, I've got family living in LA, too. Received a call from my mom today saying all was fine--nothing like the Northridge Quake, which left her and my step-father displaced for over a year while their condo was being repaired and remodeled.
But Newport Beach wasn't too bad of a location to be displaced to while they waited to return home.

I'd rather live in Northport, Millport, Birmingport or Bridgeport than in Newport.

Very nice place to visit, though.
That's Newport Beach on the West Coast and not Newport on the East Coast.
I know what you mean bout the South, though. Heck, we moved to Plum Nasty after spending three years in Phoenix area--missed Dixie too badly.

A couple more mud slides, earthquakes, sinkholes and fires and the property in Birmingport will be twice as valuable as that shakey ground out West..

My wife called from the base and said their nice new 3-story building was swaying.

I was in class 3 story building it was mad. People jumping under desk, crying and just acting crazy. It was crazy just for a second, but things went right back to normal after it passed.
