TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Alabama and Clemson will reportedly earn nearly $2 million apiece for their season-opening matchup in Atlanta.
The Birmingham News reported on its Web site Wednesday that the teams will split $3.8 million for the Aug. 30 game. The contract obtained by the paper through a public records request also shows beer will be available at concession stands until halftime of the game at the Georgia Dome.

The Tide could double their profits if the could get a cut of that beer money. _________________ "He was a leader, patriotic to the core, devoted to his players, and inspired by a winning spirit that wouldn't quit. The other is a 6-8 year deal between traditional rivals (Old South West Conference foes), while ours is just an interesting one-and-done last minute pick up of opportunity.
What do you suppose New Orleans would pay to have 6-8 years of Bama vs. Texas A&M in the Super Dome?

But it is not a one and done. The Atlanta Sports Council is making this an annual game, and they need to be closer to the bar raised in Dallas. I'm sure in the scenario you raised that New Orleans would be closer to that bar.
