I knew better but I was in a hurry. Sorry to get the board jumping over proper English. I was just trying to share my views. Thanks to the ones that didnt throw me under the bus. Also, I was not shouting but thanks for the lesson. Rolling Eyes

Jesus H. Christ on a popsicle stick!!!! Can we skip the rambling about the all caps? Rolling Eyes

That's not a bad point, but looking at our schedule we should have 8 wins without too much trouble. If the ball bounces our way in some games we could easily win 10. Look at how close we were to winning several games that we lost last year.

Should Win:
Tulane
Western Kentucky
Arkansas
Kentucky
Ole Miss
Arkansas State
Mississippi State

Bama will be an underdog in every other game. While I agree that it is possible to steal a game or maybe two of the remaining games I don't think you can expect to.

Clemson - 1st game of the year means strange things can happen
Georgia - We were in this game at Tuscaloosa but we'd need a miracle in Athens
Tennessee - QB position could be problematic, new OC as well
LSU - QB position will be problematic but this game is in Baton Rouge and will be very, very tough
Auburn - Another team with a new QB (or 2) and a new OC

I would say that winning three of those games is possible but not probable. It is probably best to keep your expectations low for now and just let the season play out.

8-4 5-3

How did I miss a careless grammatical thread?

Good comments, Jay. I put my earplugs in and it made perfect sense.

Very Happy

My opinion is that seven wins will have more a more impact on this year's recruiting than our ability because of preseason ranking to win a NC in the next two years. It doesn't matter where you are ranked in the preseason if you go undefeated (unless your Auburn, of course Very Happy ). Actually, I think Florida's blow out win, followed up by LSU's win over Ohio State has pretty much sealed the fate of the SEC Champion including Auburn in the BCS barring a unforeseen blow out loss of a SEC Champion.

Hank.

Honest. Little known Biblical fact.

YES WE HAVE TURNED THE CORNER WITH REGARD TO HOW HIGH SCHOOLERS IN ALABAMA VIEW THE UNIVERSITY. HOWEVER IF WE EXPECT TO BE A TRUE CONTENDER FOR THE NC IN THE NEXT TWO YEARS, WE CAN NOT HAVE ANOTHER 7 WIN SEASON THIS YEAR. IN THE CASE OF THE POLLS AND MEDIA, PERCEPTION IS REALITY. TO COMPETE WITH 1 LOSS OHIO ST OR MICHIGAN OR USC OR WHAT OTHER NAME SCHOOL WHO PLAY WEEK SCHEDULES, YOU HAVE TO HAVE A GOOD SPOT IN THE POLLS TO START THE YEAR. IT IS SCARY TO THINK ABOUT BUT WE NEED A GOOD YEAR TO MAKE US NATIONALLY TALKED ABOUT AGAIN.THE MEDIA WOULD HELP. THE ONLY WAY TO WIN THEM OVER IS TO WIN AROUND NINE GAMES. THEN WITH OUR RECRUITING AND RESULTS ON THE FIELD WE WILL TRULY HAVE A SHOT AT A NC BECAUSE WE WOULD BE IN STRIKING DISTANCE IN THE EARLY POLLS. (EXAMPLE: SEE OHIO ST)

A lot of people tend to forget the 05 season. I remember us being ranked 3rd in the nation and on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Where were we ranked prior to that season?

It can still be done.
