Very impressive number of players from Mississippi with 8 All SEC players from a state of less than 3 million people. Also Alabama with 12 players from a state with less than 5 million people.

Not very impressive is the Carolinas with only 4 all SEC players from a population of more than 13 million, Kentucky with 2 players from a population of more than 4 million and Tennessee with only 4 players from a state of more than 6 million.

I don't know if I would be too hard on the Carolinas until I checked the all-ACC preseason teams. I'm guessing there are a few of them listed there.

That's true. Also, Kentucky shares the in state talent pool with Louisville. Tennessee is probably the biggest surprise with only 4 between UT and Vandy.
