This might be the best "overall" squad Murphy has had (even though they are young), but considering that the program is not very old, they haven't had any down years. I believe they won the SEC Tournament in their second year of existence, and they haven't really looked back. There have been years when they ran into a buzz saw like UCLA in the regionals, but this is also their 5th trip to the WCWS ('00, '03, '05, '06, and now '08 ). That shows a pretty consistent pattern of top play when you consider that 1997 was when the program was born.

Like I said though, this year IMO is their best overall squad, and next year will be even better (on paper anyway). That might be what you meant as well, the semantics just got me.
