Awesome shots. Was there just the one Z06 there?
Do you have any information on the Falcon, like what was under the skin? It looks to be a 7/8ths or so scale.
RTR,
Tim

Thanks!
The Falcon sounded like it had a 302 in it. I didn't get a chance to peep under the hood.
There were some older C5 Z06's and maybe 1 or 2 newer C6 Z06's. I love the C6!

It's an awesome car. If I'd had more money and fewer kids and obligations, I'd have grabbed an '07 closeout. A base model could have been gotten (still some around) in the high 30's.
I hope they get kinks worked out of the C6-R, but I don't think that program will ever match the dominating success of the C5-R.

That is a thing of beauty right there, has he had it on the dyno yet??
The 2003 Cobra that I dragrace is putting down about 680hp, mid 9's in the quarter and too streetable!

I'm not a big Ford guy but if I had to get a newer-ish Stang, it would have to be a 03+.
On the Z06, I hadn't heard what the final tune was but here is a quote from my friend who did the fabrication and went with them for the intial conservative tune:
| Quote: | | Well car did really awesome. We tuned it at Dyno4mance in GA. They have a DD dyno (low reading) so we could load the car. 6psi, 93 octane, and the car made 586whp and 630wtq spinning the tires. Car had rubber all over it and it was all in the dyno area too. This was with high10's low 11's AFR's and low timing. Car had zero knock. I was told by the guy tuning the car, that on this same dyno a Mustang made 596whp and then went righ to a DJ (dynojet) and made 720whp with no changes to the tune. Of course we shall see, as the car will end up strapped down at Walker Dynotune to see what the difference is. I would predict 690ishwhp with torque checking in around 740ish if any of this is true. Best part is that the car spools the GT35's to full boost almost as soon as you touch the gas. We started runs at 2500rpm and by 2550rpm we had full boost(6psi). Car makes 630 torque a little after 3100rpm. I drove it breifly before putting on the trailor and as you would expect, 1st and 2nd are useless, however 3rd hooks up very well and rips the speedo needle off the gauge. |
